A teen has been charged with the murder of Carnal Mixon, a 17-year-old who was found shot earlier this month in the Hilltop neighborhood of Columbus. WBNS that the 15-year-old, identified as Robert Clark III, was arrested and charged with the fatal shooting that took place on October 4. Upon their arrival at the 300 block of Lechner Avenue before 3:40 p.m., officers located Mixon with a gunshot wound, who later died at Grant Medical Center at 4:04 p.m.
Accompanying the charges is an adult's involvement, Robert Clark II, 34, has obstructed justice. According to NBC4i, Clark allegedly witnessed the incident, concealed the weapon, and fled with the teen suspect. The juvenile suspect and Clark are being held at the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center and Franklin County Jail, respectively.
The Columbus Dispatch further details that officers searched the Clarks' residence in the Milo-Grogan neighborhood of Columbus yesterday afternoon, which led to the younger Clark's arrest. A probable cause affidavit from homicide detectives indicated that the older Clark hid his son from authorities after the shooting.
