A semi-tractor trailer accident on Interstate 76 yesterday morning left one person injured and caused significant traffic disruption, with eastbound lanes being blocked near the E. 96th Avenue Exit in Commerce City, according to Denver7.
The crash involved another vehicle, and it resulted in the semi overturning, the lanes remained closed for hours as crews worked diligently to offload and upright the damaged semi, "We have multiple agencies assisting as the semi will need to be offloaded and uprighted before we can reopen the roadway," the Commerce City Police Department (CCPD) stated in a post as reported by KDVR. However, specifics about whether the injured person was the driver of the semi or someone in the truck were not immediately disclosed.
9News detailed that the eastbound section of I-76, which was closed following the accident, reopened just before 3 p.m. Saturday, though the identity of the injured person and the cause of the crash remain unclear.
