The City of Mankato announced on social media that after a morning ribbon-cutting ceremony, construction barriers began to be removed, signaling the roadway's imminent opening to traffic. All barriers are expected to be cleared by this afternoon, allowing for a seamless transition for drivers.
According to the City of Mankato's post, the ceremonial event not only marked a milestone for the city's infrastructure project but also set the stage to gradually start fully utilizing the new traffic system. Traffic signals along Riverfront Drive will be in a flashing red state for the week, with the city anticipating them to be fully operational by Friday, November 1.
