Scaling new heights in Pflugerville, the Crux Climbing Center has expanded its reach by unveiling its third and largest facility. This latest addition, situated at 18817 North Heatherwilde Blvd., opened its doors to the public on Monday, catering to a diverse crowd of climbing enthusiasts and fitness junkies alike.

According to KXAN, Grace Nicholas, COO of Crux Climbing Center, described the opening as "a step forward for the region's climbing community." With its taller walls reaching up to 58 feet, the Pflugerville location outstrips its predecessors in scale and ambition. Nicholas expressed her excitement about "improve each location," and emphasized that this new center is not exclusively for climbers, but a hub for "yogis, fitness people, everybody" to gather and grow as a community.

The roughly 30,000-square-foot facility boasts a plethora of climbing options including a 90-degree lead climbing roof, a kilter board, and areas for both bouldering and top-rope climbing. Beyond climbing, the center features a yoga room, a fitness studio, and remote work rooms, carving out spaces for a multitude of activities.

Adding a culinary twist to the experience, Spicy Boys Fried Chicken has also set up shop within the climbing center's courtyard, enticing visitors to savor some local flavors post-climb. Despite its recent opening on September 30, some amenities are yet to be fully operational as part of the site's soft launch phase. This detail, according to a post on Community Impact, was announced on Crux Climbing Center's Instagram, likely to temper visitor expectations during the initial roll-out period.

With this expansion, Crux Climbing Center is set to reinforce its foothold in the Austin area's burgeoning climbing scene. The Pflugerville location joins the existing South and Central Austin branches, extending the network's reach and providing an ever-more-inclusive destination for sporting and communal activity.
