An assault with a deadly weapon in Culver City has led to the arrest of a 27-year-old suspect, as reported by the Culver City Police Department. The violent incident, which took place on the 3800 block of Sepulveda Boulevard on the night of October 25, resulted in a victim sustaining a head injury from an attack by the suspect who wielded a metal pole.
According to the press release issued by the Culver City Police, officers arrived at the scene within a minute of the distress call, at approximately 9:17 pm. The victim was found bleeding profusely, and officers provided immediate medical aid. Soon after, Culver City Fire personnel took over, transporting the victim to a local hospital for further treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Witness statements indicated that the female suspect first requested money from the victim and upon refusal, she began striking the victim repeatedly with the metal pole. Even as the victim tried to escape, drawing into the street, the attacker was undeterred until bystanders intervened, causing her to flee.
The swift response of the Culver City Police, including the CCPD K9 Unit, led to the canvassing of the area and the subsequent arrest of Tiarea Janae Davis, identified as the suspect. Davis is a resident of Culver City and, following her apprehension, the case is slated to be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The Police Department is actively seeking further information on the case.
