The future of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center is poised at the forefront of Dallas community discourse this October. Local citizens are beckoned to join the conversation through a series of town halls aimed at shedding light on the much-anticipated Master Plan for the convention center. The upcoming gatherings promise an avenue for public input and education on the developments planned for this central hub, as announced by the City of Dallas.
The meetings, set to unfold throughout October, will feature interpretations in Spanish and options for American Sign Language upon request, ensuring inclusive dialogue with the wider community. Spearheading the town hall events are prominent city officials including Mayor Pro Tem Tennell Atkins from District 8, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Adam Bazaldua representing District 7, Council Member Jesse Moreno from District 2, and Council Member Paul E. Ridley of District 14.
Details regarding the where and when of this democratic exercise are as follows: a gathering at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3 at J. Erik Jonsson Central Dallas Public Library, serving Districts 2 and 14, followed by a 6 p.m. assembly on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Singing Hills Recreation Center for District 8 dwellers. The series concludes with an early meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Buckner Terrace Montessori, tailored to the residents of District 7. Interested parties are welcome to attend their respective district's town hall to be acquainted with and discuss the proposals presented in the Master Plan.
