The relentless efforts of the Dallas Police Department to curb violent crime yielded tangible results earlier this week. On Wednesday, specialized units executed a warrant at an apartment complex in the 2600 block of Jeffries Street, leading to the seizure of drugs and stolen firearms. The details of the raid were made public by the Dallas Police Department.
According to the release, the operation was a collaborative effort featuring the Place Network Investigation (PNI) Unit, SWAT Team, Gang Unit, and officers from Southeast Patrol. They managed to collectively recover six stolen guns and arrest five individuals, who now face a myriad of charges. The drugs seized from the location include 21 pounds of marijuana, THC wax, methamphetamine pills, promethazine, cocaine, and uniquely, psilocybin-infused chocolate bars.
The individuals apprehended in the operation are Lorenzo Hicks, 27; Brandon Hall, 22; Dalarry Runnels, 19; Brynae Jones, 27; and Ricky Morrison, 24. They have been charged with possession of marijuana, and the manufacture/delivery of several controlled substances, including methamphetamine, THC wax, and cocaine. This bust forms part of the Dallas PD’s ongoing Violent Crime Reduction Plan, an initiative that aims to strategically leverage data and community engagement to enhance safety and security across the city.
