The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard issued a Dense Fog Advisory early this morning, warning residents across multiple regions including the Los Angeles County Inland Coast, the Malibu Coast, and several areas of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. Visibility was reduced to a quarter mile or less in dense fog, prompting a call to action for those taking to the roads during the early hours of the day.

The advisory was in effect until 9 AM PDT, but the impacts of such reduced visibility lingered, creating hazards for morning commuters and obliging them to slow down, use their headlights, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, fog can drastically reduce visibility and make driving conditions dangerous, affecting several communities from Malibu to Downtown Los Angeles, along with beach areas where fog tends to be more intense. The fog eventually lifted, leading to a forecast of mostly sunny skies with highs reaching up to the mid-80s according to the National Weather Service.
Residents of Los Angeles can expect patchy fog to persist into the evening and following morning before skies clear, as per the National Weather Service. Temperatures will cool down slightly over the weekend, creating comfortable conditions for outdoor activities. However, patchy fog will likely continue into the nights and early mornings until Columbus Day, with mornings gradually becoming sunny and temperatures hovering around the mid-70s.
Further into next week, the forecast hints at a slight chance of rain by midweek, breaking the pattern of fog and sun, although the likelihood of precipitation remains low, Angelenos might well consider this a brief pause from their accustomed sunshine and blue skies, however returning to mostly sunny days with highs around 70 degrees.
