The City of Denton announced the lifting of Stage 2 watering restrictions yesterday signaling a return to regular watering schedules for residents and businesses. This development comes after the completion of repair work on two damaged filters at the Lake Lewisville Treatment Plant, which initially caused the city to surpass its daily water treatment capacity.
Stage 2 restrictions, which were put in place on August 20, dictated that outdoor irrigation be limited to once a week. However, with repairs now complete, the city has eased these measures. Moving forward, homes with even addresses are kindly asked to water only on Tuesdays and Saturdays, whereas homes with odd addresses should limit their watering to Wednesdays and Sundays. Commercial and multi-family properties are permitted to water on Mondays and Thursdays. These guidelines align with the City’s aim to ensure ongoing water conservation efforts are upheld.
According to the City of Denton, the City urged the community to continue to use water responsibly and thanked residents for their patience during the period of restrictions.
