Get ready to fill your Halloween with cheer instead of fear this year at the DeSoto Police Department's Trunk or Treat celebration. Scheduled on October 31 from 5 PM to 9 PM, this community event promises a family-friendly atmosphere with a special focus on safety for the trick-or-treaters. The DeSoto Police Department has laid out a plan to transform their parking lot into a Halloween haven, complete with an array of vehicles boasting trunks teeming with candy.
The department is offering a space where kids, dressed as princesses, superheroes, and various other characters, can roam freely for treats in an environment away from the uncertainties of the streets during nighttime. As posted in a recent Facebook announcement by DeSoto PD, the event not only offers sweets and games but also a chance to see police cars up close and interact with local officers. Sticking to their promise of a "spooktacular" time, they aim to bridge community relations festively.
Ashley from Fire Side Kitchen + Bar donated candy for the event. Acknowledging the local restaurant's contribution adds to the communal spirit of the event, reflecting the bond between businesses and law enforcement in fostering positive communal engagements.
