Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Michael Jeffries has been arrested on sex trafficking and related charges in West Palm Beach, Florida. According to NBC Miami, his alleged misconduct, once rumored among shoppers, is now being examined in court.
Jeffries is not alone in facing charges; he is joined by Matthew Smith from West Palm Beach and James Jacobson from Wisconsin. Federal prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York alleges that they hosted parties where sex acts were the hidden agenda.
As the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York prepares its case, a press conference in Brooklyn today will feature the FBI and NYPD presenting their findings.
According to the U.S. News: Jeffries, who left Abercrombie & Fitch in 2014 amid controversies that damaged his reputation, is now part of a long-standing narrative involving accusations of sexual misconduct. He allegedly lured young people with the promise of modeling opportunities, only to pressure them into sex acts.
"We will respond in detail to the allegations after the Indictment is unsealed, and when appropriate, but plan to do so in the courthouse — not the media," Jeffries’ attorney, Brian Bieber, responded firmly when pressed by NBC Miami for comments on the arrest.
