On the early hours of Thursday, a solo vehicle crash took a grim turn on the streets of Modesto. The Modesto Police Department reports that officers responded to the incident at the intersection of Roselle and Floyd Avenues shortly after 1:00 a.m., where they discovered a distressing scene. A black BMW was found with its driver pinned inside, raising immediate concerns for emergency personnel on the site.
Despite efforts from the Modesto Fire Department to extricate the driver from the wreck, the situation proved to be tragic. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, laying a somber veil over the area. Investigative results preliminarily suggest that the driver was traveling westbound on Floyd Avenue and lost control, resulting in a collision with a concrete wall on the northeast corner of the intersection. According to the Modesto Police Department's social media post, no other occupants were found in the vehicle.
After the crash, the road was closed for a thorough investigation but has since reopened, allowing traffic to resume. The Modesto Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Traffic Safety Officer Randy Raduechel at [email protected]. The identity of the driver has yet to be released, pending notification of next of kin. The investigation is still ongoing.
