A routine search for a sex offender in Allegheny County resulted in a considerable drug bust, officials reported. Detectives on the hunt for Andre Gray, a 58-year-old wanted on a felony arrest warrant for not registering as a sex offender, ended up at a residence on Auriles Street in Duquesne. WPXI reports that upon their arrival yesterday, Mareio Gray, 45, insisted that Andre was neither there nor a resident, giving detectives his permission to look around, during which the search for Andre took on a new focal point.

Inside, what the detectives found was not Andre Gray but rather large quantities of narcotics. Displayed clearly, detectives stumbled upon "large bags of suspected marijuana, multiple smaller bags of suspected marijuana, a large bag of suspected hallucinogenic mushrooms as well as additional items of suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia," according to WPXI. These discoveries led to the securing of the home and the obtaining of a search warrant to execute a thorough search.

As stated in a CBS News Pittsburgh, the subsequent search yielded over six pounds of suspected marijuana and more than a half-pound of suspected hallucinogenic mushrooms. Additionally, detectives found "several other items containing THC and small amounts of crack and crack cocaine."

Mareio Gray, found surrounded with enough evidence to lead to criminal charges, was charged with five counts of possession and three counts of possession with intent to deliver; he was incarcerated at the Allegheny County Jail. Detectives, following a lead to a relative's home on Wool Street, eventually arrested Andre Gray, who was greeted with the long arm of the law and also ended up at Allegheny County Jail.
