
A brush fire has erupted in East Austin, and officials say it's advancing toward residential areas and educational establishments. The Austin Fire Department (AFD) is on the front lines, tackling the blaze that sparked in the 9500 block of FM 969 Road. According to FOX 7 Austin, the firefighters are battling a fire that has grown to a quarter of an acre and shows a rapid tendency to spread.

The situation has prompted a response from the STAR Flight Travis County's air support units to assist the firefighting efforts. Per the information shared by AFD, the blaze poses a significant threat to the nearby Austin Discovery School, as stated in the coverage by KXAN.
