
A family disturbance on San Antonio's West Side led to an elderly woman being shot in the leg. The incident happened around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Canvas Back and Avocet, when a couple's altercation turned violent.
FOX San Antonio reported that the confrontation began when a boyfriend allegedly slapped his girlfriend, prompting her to fire a gun into the ground. The bullet ricocheted and struck the grandmother in the leg. She was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition, with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
In the aftermath of the shooting, police are actively searching for the girlfriend suspected of firing the shot and fleeing the scene. The boyfriend has been arrested on unrelated warrants. There has been no update on the search for the female suspect as of the latest reports from News 4 San Antonio.
Police are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in their ongoing investigation.
