Earlier today, a fire broke out at the Cohasset Recycling and Transfer facility after reports of an explosion. The Cohasset Police Department, through a social media post, confirmed that local emergency services were dispatched at around 5:47 am. The flames, upon arrival, were consuming an oversized commercial metal garage and several outbuildings.

A vital piece of municipal equipment, a front-end loader worth over $250,000, was destroyed in the blaze, along with the building. The police report stated that firefighting units from Cohasset, Scituate, and Norwell worked for more than two hours to extinguish the fire.

Cohasset police detectives, along with State Troopers from the Fire Marshal's office, have started an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. The area known as The Boutique, a center for recycling, was also destroyed in the incident.
