Get ready to embrace the autumnal spirit as Mesquite’s annual PumpkinFest is back to sprinkle a little fall magic for families and individuals alike. Mark your calendars for October 19, when the city will host the festivities from 12-5 p.m. at Paschall Park, located at 1001 New Market Road. According to an announcement on the City of Mesquite's official website, there will be no shortage of fall-themed fun and activities for all ages arranged this year.
Sponsored by America’s Credit Union, the event boasts a complimentary treat bag that should make trick-or-treating with local artisan vendors a delightful experience for visitors. Guests urged to dress in their most imaginative costumes, can look forward to participating in a spirited costume contest. Wearing their most whimsical outfits, pets are welcome too—having the chance to strut their stuff at their costume contest for prizes from PetSmart.
PumpkinFest is known for offering a range of gratis and paid attractions. According to the event's webpage, attendees can enjoy stage performances, a magic show, arts and crafts, and hayrides for free. Contests, including the traditional pumpkin pie-eating contest sponsored by Celebration Station, will be free as well. For those looking for an extra thrill, a $10 wristband provides access to premium activities such as the return of the 26-foot rock wall, inflatables, face painting, and a new addition this year.
The event will not leave you hungry as a selection of food vendors are set to cater to the peckish. With parking provided at no cost, families can spend their money where it counts: snacking and enjoying the premium activities. Event sponsors, including Dallas Regional Medical Center and Navy Federal Credit Union, have ensured there's plenty to do and see. Meanwhile, for the artisans among us, vendor opportunities are still up for grabs.
