Yesterday, the Marysville Police Department swiftly concluded its emergency response to Marysville Pilchuck High School amidst an alarming report of an active shooter situation which was thankfully resolved peacefully as there was no immediate danger found, resulting in the lifting of the school lockdown and securing the safety of all individuals on campus.
The scare was prompted by a message received through an internet chat directed at a Veterans Crisis Line, originating from a location across state lines in California, despite the threat being localized to the high school in Washington, the authorities didn't take any chances and proceeded with a full-scale response from the Marysville Fire District and multiple law enforcement agencies from North Snohomish County, the coordinated effort resulted in a thorough search and subsequent confirmation that the danger was absent from the school's premises.
Following the all-clear, the City of Marysville stated, "Our department is working closely with MPHS, the Marysville School District and the Marysville Fire District to support students, faculty, and families as they process today’s events." In light of the day's tensions, first responders and counselors have remained at the school to provide both emotional and medical support to those in need as the community begins to recover from the false alarm.
