A tragedy unfolded in Orange County today when a fire engulfed a double-wide trailer, resulting in one fatality. According to Click Orlando, the fire department received a 911 call at 12:56 p.m. reporting heavy flames billowing from a trailer on the 800 block of Indigo Avenue. Despite the fire department's efforts, which resulted in a quick suppression of the fire, they discovered a deceased individual inside the residence.
Efforts were described as "a good, quick knockdown," yet it was too late for the victim to be found inside by the fire department. "A deceased victim was soon found inside of the structure," said the fire department in a statement obtained by Click Orlando. The Orange County Sheriff's Office was also present, lending their support at the scene of the incident.
Questions swirl regarding the blaze's origin as the community reels from the incident. According to WESH, an investigation is underway to determine what prompted the fire. The State Fire Marshal was notified and will take the lead to investigate the incident further.
