
Today, tragedy struck at the intersection of West Sand Lake and Turkey Lake roads in Orange County when a pedestrian was involved in a fatal collision with a red SUV. Florida Highway Patrol troopers were called to the scene shortly before 6 a.m., where they pronounced the pedestrian deceased, as WFTV reports.
Traffic in the area was disrupted as a portion of the roadway was closed for investigation, with troopers working to understand the circumstances of the crash. According to ClickOrlando, law enforcement has provided limited information, and the investigation is ongoing. The SUV driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
The identity of the deceased has not been released until the next of kin are notified. The Highway Patrol has not said if speed, distractions, or impairment were factors in the incident.
