
A serious traffic collision in Westwood has left two individuals entrapped and five total patients requiring medical attention. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported the incident at 470 S Veteran Avenue yesterday at 10:59 AM, with first responders arriving swiftly on the scene to address the situation, according to a LAFD alert.
Details have emerged that the accident involved two vehicles, causing a severe challenge for emergency crews as they worked diligently to free the trapped. This information was disclosed in a follow-up LAFD alert, which stated that by 11:34 AM, the two trapped persons had been successfully extricated from the wreckage and alongside the three others, whose conditions were considered fair, were prepared for transport to area hospitals for further care.
The LAFD has not yet provided details on the cause of the collision, however, there's an ongoing investigation being spearheaded by the LAPD West Traffic Division (Incident #1941). The response to the incident was sizeable, with multiple units including E19, E237, E37, and E71, and specialized teams like UR88.
