Early Thursday morning, Nashville awoke to find its skies enshrouded in a thick fog, a natural spectacle that prompted the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to issue an immediate halt on all incoming flights at Nashville International Airport. The FAA cited "low visibility" as the impetus for the ground stop, as reported by WSMV.

Travelers were briefly stranded as the halt, which the FAA explains was a safety precaution, temporarily prevented aircraft from touching down on the tarmac of BNA. This pause in the regular rhythm of arrivals did not last long. Operations resumed their normal pace shortly after the fog's density diminished. "BNA Airport says this is in effect until 8:30 a.m.," as confirmed by FOX17
