A chilling encounter on the streets of Bloomington, California, ended with an arrest after a man brandished a "ghost gun" at an unsuspecting victim under a case of mistaken identity. The suspect, Edgar Adrian Arriagamendiola, a 36-year-old Fontana resident, was later apprehended by San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies with a stash of illegal weaponry and drugs in his possession. According to the KTLA report, the harrowing incident occurred on the morning of September 28 when the victim was confronted and subsequently followed in a dangerous vehicular chase by Arriagamendiola.

Deputies were called to the scene around 6:30 a.m., upon receiving reports of a weapon being brandished. Arriagamendiola, driving a red 2013 Dodge 200, pursued the victim aggressively and at one point "forced the victim to stop." In an unexpected turn of events, the suspect approached the victim, admitted his error saying he thought the victim was someone else, and then fled the scene, as reported by the SBSD - Fontana Sheriff's Department.

The subsequent investigation led to the identification of Arriagamendiola and a warrant for his arrest. The following day, deputies located him during a traffic stop in Fontana, recovering a myriad of illegal items including a loaded 9mm ghost gun, a stun gun, pepper spray, a switchblade knife, and methamphetamine. Arriagamendiola faces multiple charges including possession of methamphetamine while armed, a felon possessing a firearm and an undetectable firearm, and carrying a loaded firearm in public.

The Sheriff's Office has urged anyone with information on Arriagamendiola, or those who may have been a victim of similar incidents to come forward and contact the Fontana Station at 909-356-6767. The public can also leave anonymous tips via the WeTip Hotline at 800-782-7463 or online.
