The Friends of Chandler Public Library are encouraging local residents to support the city's literary hub this holiday season. Their Season of Friendship Giving Campaign aims to enhance the library with new programs and resources. Running through the holidays, the campaign focuses on expanding the library's offerings, including STEAM and literacy programs, as well as access to digital platforms like LinkedIn Learning.

Funds raised will contribute to a $135,000 portion of a $240,000 budget for a mobile outreach vehicle planned to expand the library's reach as a roving branch by 2025. In line with National Friends of Libraries Week, participants can help support the growth and sustainability of important community services. "The Friends support many of the important programs and services at Chandler Public Library," Tara Anglin, CPL community engagement manager, said in a statement obtained from the city's official website. "Whether it is an adult attending a speaker series or a first grader getting help with their reading, the Friends are the unsung heroes."

Supporters can donate online or in person at any of the four Chandler Library locations. Investing in the library involves more than financial contributions; it reflects a commitment to community education and connection, according to Rachelle Kuzyk, the Chandler Public Library manager. "Our libraries are more than places to find books – they are the heartbeat of our community," Kuzyk told the city's official website. "Libraries serve as a place to connect with one another and discover avenues for life-long learning."

The Friends have supported various free programs for the community, including talks by Navajo Code Talkers, recipe exchanges, and crafting events for families. During the holiday season, the Stuffy Winter Sleepover invites young patrons to experience the library at night.
