A fatal pedestrian accident claimed the life of a Germantown woman on Monday night in Gaithersburg. The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is conducting investigations to get to the bottom of this tragedy. The collision occurred just past 9 p.m. when a black 2019 Honda Civic struck the woman as she attempted to cross Great Seneca Highway.
Traveling southbound along Great Seneca Highway near Kentlands Boulevard, the Honda collided with 30-year-old Dinora Aleman Amaya. According to the Montgomery County press release, her tragic demise was pronounced upon the emergency crew's arrival at the scene. The Honda's driver, whose identity was not released, stayed at the location after the incident.
As authorities piece together the moments that led to the fatal encounter, they have issued a call for witnesses. Any person who sighted the collision is urged to come forward with information that could illuminate how such an evening unfolded into irreversible loss.
