
A child was seriously injured yeterday after being struck by a car in Gaston County, North Carolina. The incident occurred on U.S. 321 near Carson Drive in the city of Gastonia, as confirmed by Gaston County Emergency Medical Services. The child, of elementary school age, had to quickly be taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center following the collision, reported WCNC Charlotte.
Officials did not immediately provide details about the circumstances of the crash, and it remains unclear whether the driver involved will face any charges. An earlier statement obtained by WBTV indicated that the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. just south of Gastonia on York Highway.
According to another local report by WSOC-TV, the exact location of the crash was pinpointed to Highway 321 at Carson Drive, corroborating the initial location given by Gaston County EMS.
