
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has stepped in to make arrests in the tragic death of Tevin Wright, whose life was cut short in Stewart County under violent and mysterious circumstances. The story, originating from GBI's press release, states that three individuals, ages 16 to 19, are now facing charges that encompass Aggravated Assault and Felony Murder, reflecting an unsettling glimpse into youth entangled with grave criminal allegations.
On September 19 and September 20, the GBI, with assistance from the Lumpkin Police Department, brought the 16-year-old boy from Lumpkin and Quantavius Cooper, respectively, into custody; subsequently, Zanquez Davis was arrested on Thursday by the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office, each finding themselves within the uncompromising grasp of the law for their alleged roles in Wright's demise, Cooper and Davis now find themselves confined in the Stewart County Jail while the unnamed minor is detained at the Columbus Regional Youth Detention Center.
In the immediate response to a car accident call on Cotton Street, authorities found Wright in his vehicle, deceased, a victim not of the crash but of gunshot wounds—a discovery that propelled the Lumpkin Police Department to seek out the GBI's investigative resources, according to initial reports from the scene, evidence and testimonies led detectives down a path that concluded with the pointed fingers at the three accused.
