
As fall progresses, the National Weather Service has issued a pleasant forecast for Washington, D.C., with a week of sunshine and comfortable temperatures ahead. Currently, the city has a few clouds and a cool temperature of 55°F.
According to the National Weather Service, residents and visitors can look forward to a sunny day today with highs near 80°F and a light southwest wind of 5 to 10 mph. In the evening, it will remain partly cloudy, with temperatures dropping to around 57°F. The south wind will continue at 5 to 10 mph before shifting to the northwest after midnight.
The sunny weather is expected to last through Thursday and into the weekend. On Thursday, temperatures will reach around 68°F, with a north wind of 14 to 16 mph, gusting up to 24 mph. The night will remain clear, with a low of about 42°F as the northwest wind calms to around 3 to 7 mph.
On Friday, expect more sunshine with a high around 68°F and a light southwest wind picking up to about 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. The night will bring partly cloudy skies and a low of around 51°F. Moving into the weekend, Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high near 72°F, and temperatures will drop to about 44°F at night under mostly clear skies.
The clear and sunny weather is expected to continue into next week. On Sunday, temperatures will reach a high near 60°F, with a low around 40°F at night. Monday and Tuesday will also be sunny, with highs in the low 60s on Monday and upper 60s on Tuesday.
