The city of Goodyear is set to welcome the first Buc-ee's travel center in Arizona, a development that could see its doors open by Christmas 2025. Initiation of construction at the southeast corner of Bullard Avenue and Interstate 10 marks the beginning of the establishment's footprint in the state.
In what aims to rapidly become a notable landmark for travelers, the Goodyear Buc-ee's promises to deliver a unique shopping experience with its wide array of snacks, homemade barbecue, and fudge, as well as a selection of its signature Beaver Nuggets and a diverse wall of beef jerky. Notably, the new location will also feature over 100 fueling stations, setting a considerable scale for vehicular service capability. In a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix, Jordan Byrd, Goodyear Communications Specialist, confirmed that construction was officially underway.
With a significant investment in the local community, the Buc-ee's store is to span 74,000 square feet and is expected to offer 200 full-time jobs, as reported by ABC15. The Goodyear City Council provided the green light for this development with a zoning change approved on January 29, 2024.
"If everything goes to plan, we should be open by Christmas of next year," noted the Director of Buc-ee's Construction in a video shared by the City of Goodyear, as mentioned by ABC15. This timeline could see the travel center become operational in little over a year, ready to serve the influx of holiday travelers. The store's design will also integrate products from local vendors, thus seeking to further embed itself within the Goodyear community.
The anticipation for Buc-ee's debut in Arizona is palpable, with the city of Goodyear rapidly sharing updates and developments via social media. With the promise of a 24-hour location equipped with 120 fueling stations dedicated to passenger vehicles, the advent of Buc-ee's is poised to notably contribute to Goodyear's local economy and job market.
