At a recent celebration in Corrigan, Texas, Governor Greg Abbott cut the ribbon on the new Corrigan OSB, LLC facility, which is set to be the largest of its kind in North America. The Governor remarked on the state's strong manufacturing sector and the key role the newly expanded facility will play in it. "Corrigan OSB's expanded manufacturing facility will be the largest OSB facility in all of North America. It will provide needed, high-quality building materials to Texas’ growing economy," Governor Abbott stated, according to a release from the Office of the Texas Governor. The project represents a $211 million investment and underscores what the Governor calls the 'Made in Texas' brand.
The opening ceremony drew more than two hundred entrepreneurs and workers, where Governor Abbott highlighted the recent accolades Texas has received for its business environment. "Thanks to our strong manufacturing sector, ‘Made in Texas’ has never been a bigger brand," he commented, pointing out the state's ranking for Best Business Climate and the attraction of Fortune 500 companies. Furthermore, the Governor noted that CEOs have ranked Texas as the Best State for Business for 20 consecutive years — a testament to the state's reasonable regulations and business-friendly policies, as per the Office of the Texas Governor.
Among those present at the facility's grand opening were prominent local and regional officials, such as RoyOMartin Chairman & CEO Roy Martin, Polk County Judge Sydney Murphy, and Corrigan Mayor Johnna Gibson, joining the Governor in marking this milestone. The diverse and skilled Texas workforce was also praised by the Governor as a significant draw for international businesses looking to set up operations in the state, as reported by the Office of the Texas Governor.
In the previous year, Governor Abbott had awarded a Texas Enterprise Fund grant of $278,000 to Corrigan OSB, LLC, which was inclusive of a $3,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus. This financial support underscores the state's commitment to bolstering locally established companies and encouraging economic expansion, which in turn offers more jobs and opportunities for Texas citizens. The ceremonious event underscores the ongoing efforts by the Office of the Texas Governor to reinforce Texas’ reputation as a powerhouse in the US manufacturing sector.
