The apartments aim to cater to a varied iincome bracket and offer deeply affordable homes to households earning at or below 30% of the Area Median Income (AMI), with prices set around $597 for a two-bedroom apartment at this income level. Not to be omitted, thirty homes are reserved for households earning at or below the 80% AMI threshold, with the rent for a similar two-bedroom unit averaging $1,581.

District 4 Councilmember Dr. Adriana Rocha Garcia views the Palladium Apartments project as a catalyst for community improvement. "District 4 is home to the Gateway to the Air Force and I hope new projects like Palladium San Antonio, with its proximity to JBSA-Lackland, will help spur revitalization in a corridor where high-quality housing and retail options are needed," she told the City of San Antonio. Garcia emphasized the local desire for developments that attract more investment and enhance public infrastructure in the community.

Additional to the apartments themselves, the complex promises a host of resident services and amenities. The Omnium Management Company plans to deliver several on-site social services at no cost to the residents, including a food pantry, school supply giveaways, and health and wellness assistance. Residents can also look forward to a resort-style swimming pool, a fitness center, and a business center, among others, as part of the community offerings detailed in the news release.

The Palladium Apartments stand as a significant nod to San Antonio's Strategic Housing Implementation Plan (SHIP), which was approved by the San Antonio City Council back in 2018. As Veronica Garcia, the Director of the City's Neighborhood and Housing Services Department, explained in the City of San Antonio news release, "The range of affordable homes included at Palladium San Antonio adds critical choices to the housing market." This aligns with the SHIP's objective to fabricate and preserve over 28,000 affordable units catering to the needs of low- and moderate-income households.

The necessity for affordable housing in San Antonio is emphasized by the 2022 Housing Bond, which voters approved to direct $150 million toward the creation and preservation of affordable homes. This bond targets low-income families, seniors, and individuals facing homelessness as the city confronts an increasing housing crisis due to a shortage of affordable options.
