A Gulfport local, Jesse Robinson, has won $2 million from the Florida Lottery's 100X THE CASH Scratch-Off game. The 49-year-old chose to take a lump sum payment of $1,280,000, a common choice for big winners. This win was reported earlier today by WFLA and TampaFP.
The lucky ticket was bought at the Gulfport Market, located precisely at 5800 28th Avenue South in Gulfport. According to WFLA, the retailer is also set to receive a $4,000 bonus commission — a smaller, yet significant win for the business. This prize is one of the many from the 100X THE CASH game, which still has over 700,000 prizes to be claimed. These range from $50 to $100,000, and despite the varying amounts, the overall odds of winning are 1-in-3.49.
Florida's Scratch-Off games benefit more than just players and retailers; they also contribute significantly to the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF), which supports various educational programs. Since they started, these games have raised over $19.24 billion for the fund, showing that each ticket sold helps invest in the state’s future, as noted by TampaFP.
