Harris County residents can expect to see increased law enforcement presence this Halloween as Constable Mark Herman's office ramps up patrols. In a statement obtained via a Facebook post, Constable Herman explained that deputies will have detailed lists of all known sex offenders in the area and will be checking to make sure these individuals are not participating in Halloween activities. "Our #1 goal is to keep our kids safe,” said Herman. Enforcement will be strict, aiming to prevent any breaches such as decorations, handing out candy, or keeping porch lights on, which could be construed as an invitation to trick-or-treaters.
The annual deployment of extra deputies on the spookiest night of the year is a routine practice, but the inclusion of a dedicated task force reflects a heightened commitment to ensuring a safe environment for children and families.
