During a routine traffic stop in Harris County, an event unfolded that has now culminated in the arrest of an 18-year-old suspect. Constable Mark Herman's office reported via social media that on Saturday, an interaction with a driver in the 12100 block of Pinelands Park Lane led to the discovery of a firearm and a subsequent chase.
When the vehicle was stopped, the front seat passenger, later identified as Malachi Penny, is said to have fled the scene holding a handgun, initiating an urgent response from law enforcement. The office of Constable Mark Herman established a perimeter in quick pursuit, and Penny was arrested in the vicinity after the handgun was found discarded in a nearby wooded area, according to the official Facebook post of the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
"Penny Malachi was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading Arrest, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and Tampering with Evidence. His total bond was set at $5,200.00 out of the 496th District Court and County Court 2," stated the social media announcement from Constable Mark Herman.
