Following Hurricane Helene's destruction, communities are coming together to support those affected. The Helotes Police Department, in partnership with the Fair Oaks Police Department, has set up a relief donation drive. Residents can donate essential supplies at the Helotes Police Department, located at 12951 Bandera Rd., Helotes, TX 78023, until November 1.
According to the City of Helotes' website, people can donate non-perishable food, various hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and baby necessities, among other critical items. The departments have provided a detailed list of what items are needed, which includes new clothing of all sizes, flashlights, batteries, and even pet food and supplies. Anyone with questions about the donation drive is encouraged to get in touch with the contact provided: [email protected].
The organizers outline that there is also a need for new underwear for men, women, and children, as well as bedding materials like blankets, pillows, and air mattresses. Reusable shopping bags and practical items such as toilet paper, paper towels, mops, buckets, brooms, and socks in various sizes are also listed as top priorities for the drive.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, local police departments are working together to provide relief to those most affected. Donations are accepted daily until the deadline, ensuring that assistance reaches those in need quickly.
