Hillsborough County and the Florida Department of Emergency Management (FDEM) have coordinated to further extend a hand to those who've been hit by Hurricanes Milton, Helene, and Debby. With the existing Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) already in operation at the Ruskin Tax Collector’s Office, two new additions are joining to bolster the aid efforts. These centers are set up to provide a one-stop-shop of support for residents and business owners alike.
The newly added MARCs, located at Progress Village, 8701 Progress Blvd., Tampa, FL 33619, and University Mall, 2200 E. Fowler Ave., Tampa, FL 33612, all of which welcoming those needing assistance from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily until further notice. Operating beyond just a bureaucratic touchpoint, the staff on hand comes from a collaboration of federal, state, and regional partners, and nonprofit agencies – all of which are committed to ensuring that those affected by the recent spate of storms have access to the necessary resources. The MARC locations have been opened, ready to shepherd individuals through their recovery – whether it be a family looking to apply for aid or a business owner trying to pick up the pieces.
As detailed on Hillsborough County's official website, it's clear that the opening of additional resource centers is a response to the widespread disruption left behind by the hurricanes. Residents seeking assistance or help with completing applications can visit any of the mentioned centers. This concerted effort is a testament to the community's resilience and the governmental bodies' dedication to providing comprehensive post-disaster assistance.
Hillsborough County views the expansion of the MARCs as an important step toward recovery. By bringing together expertise and resources from various organizations, the goal is to ease the path to normalcy for those affected by natural disasters.
