According to the Honolulu Police Department on their facebook page, the incident began just after 1:30 a.m. when officers tried to stop a stolen vehicle. The situation escalated quickly as the male driver fled and fired at the officers
The officers were unharmed during the gunfire exchange and returned fire. The suspect was apprehended and taken to a hospital in serious condition.
