Authorities have enhanced their efforts to locate a suspect, Jeremiah Malik Coleman, 24, who has been formally charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a weapon. This development is in connection with a Houston shooting that took place last month, leaving a 31-year-old male with multiple non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The incident occurred approximately at 11 a.m. on September 22 at a convenience store located at 5064 Griggs.
With a previous booking photo released, Coleman remains at large as per the latest updates from law enforcement. Running from the scene after the shooting, both the suspect and the victim disappeared before law enforcement arrived, according to the City of Houston. It was after responding to another shooting call at the victim's residence that the officers found him wounded.
The City of Houston news release mentioned that the HPD Southeast Patrol Division Sergeant D. Crandall said, "Officers responded to a report of a shooting at a convenience store at the above address and were told by an employee both the victim and the suspect had fled the scene." Further investigations led to the discovery of surveillance footage capturing Coleman retrieving a gun and firing multiple shots at the victim.
Efforts to capture Coleman intensified last Tuesday when he was charged for his involvement in the shooting. Described as still free to the public, anyone with information on Coleman's whereabouts is strongly encouraged to come forward. Those who know something about this case should reach out to the Southeast Patrol Division at 832-394-1600 or provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
