
Authorities are on the hunt for a man charged in connection with the fatal shooting that took place on Elmside Drive earlier this month. Dannier Aguero-Benitez, 37, is now charged with murder following the death of Alleydis Fernandez-Aguirre, 47. The Harris County District Attorney's Office issued the charge yesterday, according to a news release.
The Houston Police Department responded to a report at approximately 8:50 p.m. last Tuesday at an apartment complex located at 3030 Elmside Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive male with gunshot wounds in the parking lot. Mr. Fernandez-Aguirre was pronounced dead at the scene. Initially, no suspect description was available from the authorities.
During the ensuing investigation, detectives from the HPD Homicide Division, namely M. Althaus and D. Davis, identified Aguero-Benitez as the suspect. As of the latest update, Aguero-Benitez has not been apprehended and is considered wanted. A booking photo from February 2024 has been released to aid in his capture, as per City of Houston News.
Investigators are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Dannier Aguero-Benitez to come forward.
