
A suspect has been taken into custody and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on West Little York Road in Houston, culminating in one death and one injury. Abram Gonzalez, 25, faces charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, as confirmed in a recent news release by the City of Houston.
On Sunday, at approximately 11:05 p.m., Houston Police Department officers responded to a shooting at a strip center, where they discovered a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds outside the front doors of a business pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene, the second victim, a 56-year-old woman, was also shot in the right leg and was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The identity of the male victim, who was 29 years old, remains unconfirmed and awaits verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
During the investigation, based on witness statements, Gonzalez was identified as the suspect responsible for the violent encounter on West Little York Road. He later surrendered to the HPD North Patrol Division officers on Monday, where he admitted his involvement in the shooting, leading to the subsequent charges against him.
