Authorities have apprehended a suspect linked to the theft of a PlayStation 5 during a Facebook Marketplace transaction, as confirmed by Constable Mark Herman's Office. The encounter, which took a wrong turn for a seller who arranged a meet-up on the 18600 block of Atasca South Drive yesterday, ended with the retrieval of the gaming console and the arrest of Jacob Adam. Constable Mark Herman detailed the response by deputies to the incident in a Facebook post.
Following the report of the robbery, deputies were provided with images of the suspect taken from Facebook, which lead to the successful identification and subsequent location of Jacob Adam at his place of residence, and in an unexpected turn of events, the stolen PlayStation was found and recovered at this location. "Jacob Adam was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Theft from Person. He is awaiting bond out of the 495th District Court," said Constable Mark Herman in a Facebook update.
More information surrounding the incident has yet to unfold.
