A man, 24 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene of a shooting yesterday afternoon at an apartment complex in Houston. The incident took place at 7575 Office City Drive around 4:20 p.m., where the victim was discovered unresponsive in a vehicle, as reported by the City of Houston's official news outlet.
Findings have not yet been publicly disclosed regarding the cause of death as the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is pending to verify the identity of the deceased male. Houston police officers responded to a call which led to the tragic discovery of the young man in the front passenger side of a car, having sustained at least one gunshot wound, according to statements from HPD Homicide Division Detectives P. Michon and C. Davidson.
The circumstances that culminated in this act of violence are currently shrouded in mystery. The HPD Homicide Division continues to probe into the narrative that unfolded at the apartment complex, in an effort to piece together the moments that preceded the man's demise.
An autopsy whimsically waiting to reveal the manner of death is being conducted and authorities are eager to glean information from it that may assist in cracking the case open. "Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS," HPD officials voiced in a call to the public for assistance with their investigation, according to the City of Houston.
