
Early this morning, a man's life was abruptly ended on the streets of Houston, and now police are calling for the public's help. At approximately 2:20 a.m., a 64-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by an eastbound red Dodge Ram truck on Hempstead Road, and the driver subsequently fled the scene; the incident is now the subject of an ongoing investigation by the Houston Police Department. Tragically, the victim, whose name has yet to be released pending identification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was declared dead where he lay.
A statement from the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, obtained by the City of Houston News, detailed that Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer J. Johnson are primary investigators on the case, they are piecing together the moments that led up to this heinous act, wherein a driver. In the immediate aftermath, the victim received no aid.
