The Houston Police Department is actively seeking 20-year-old Ricardo Alejandro Hernandez in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred at an apartment complex on Lakes at 610 Drive in June. According to the official news release, Hernandez is considered a person of interest and has not been charged at the time of this update.
The incident, which took place on the evening of June 16, claimed the life of 13-year-old Quinton Higgins and injured his 18-year-old brother, who was treated for a gunshot wound to his hand at an area hospital. Police were called to the scene at approximately 8:40 p.m. after the surviving brother flagged down officers. Following the shooting, the suspects, merely described as being in their mid-20s, fled in an older silver sedan, as per the City of Houston News.
Investigators E. Camacho and C. Davidson of HPD's Homicide Division detailed that Higgins and his brother had arranged to meet the unknown suspects prior to the incident. In an effort to advance the investigation, authorities have called upon the public for any information leading to the whereabouts of Ricardo Hernandez, encouraging people to contact the HPD Homicide Division or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers.
