
Earlier today, Houston Police Department initiated an investigation into a shooting that occurred in southeast Houston, which resulted in two teenagers being injured. The violent encounter unfolded around 12:30 a.m. at an apartment complex located at the intersection of Clearwood Drive and Meldrum Lane, as reported by Click2Houston.
According to the reports, both of the victims, each 15 years of age, were engaging in what could be considered a typical nocturnal gathering in the apartment's courtyard, when an altercation ensued between them and an unidentified man, the confrontation quickly escalated and it reached a harrowing conclusion, as the man brandished a firearm and discharged it. This account of the night's horrific turn came according to KHOU.
The gunfire resulted in one teenager being hit multiple times in the stomach, while the other was grazed by the bullets; the severity of the ordeal compelled the wounded to transport themselves to nearby medical facilities— the more critically injured child was later airlifted to Texas Children’s Hospital and is reported to be in serious condition, the second teen is expected to make a recovery. At this time, the Houston Police Department have not placed anyone into custody in connection with the shooting.
