A Jacksonville woman was found dead with a head injury on the Westside, leading to her boyfriend's arrest for murder. On the morning of Thursday, officers from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) arrived at the location on Bulls Bay Highway to attend to an unresponsive woman, as per First Coast News. The victim, later identified as Lois Nelson, age 61, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency services.
An autopsy conducted by the Medical Examiner concluded that the cause of death was homicide by blunt force trauma. JSO's investigation, supported by collected evidence, pinpointed Jason Paul Mieczkowski, 46, as the suspect responsible for Nelson's death. Mieczkowski was arrested and charged with murder.
