Community togetherness takes center stage as the Jefferson Parish Community Action Programs gears up to welcome families to its first-ever Family Fall Festival. According to the Jefferson Parish official press release, this event will unfold on Friday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the John A. Alario Center located at 2000 Segnette Blvd., Westwego, LA.
The celebrations are not just about bringing the community together but also about connecting residents with essential services and resources. Free admission to all attendees, JeffCAP offers a platform for local departments and community partners to showcase their services. Among these are employment assistance, Head Start enrollment, utility support, senior programs, and a host of development initiatives. Animal adoption initiatives through Jefferson Protection & Animal Welfare Services, together with valuable Jefferson Parish Library resources and programming, will also be part of the offerings, as reported by the Jefferson Parish.
The organizers have confirmed a lineup of attractions that cater to all age groups. DJ 504 Polo, the whimsically dressed Le Bon Ton Baby Dolls, and Q-Fit Health & Wellness will be providing entertainment. Those up for some interactive fun can indulge in a STEM workshop or strike a pose at the Xpress Your Selfie Photo Booth. Fans of culinary delights will enjoy a varied selection from vendors including Messina’s Concession, Let Us Cater to You, and Highly Favored Sweet Treats, as per the Jefferson Parish.
The Family Fall Festival isn't just about play; it touches on the crucial aspects of well-being with appointments for free COVID-19 and flu vaccinations. Community vendors such as AETNA and Louisiana Healthcare Connections will add to the enriching experience. The Hispanic Apostolate and organizations like Labor and Love are part of the collaborative effort to strengthen community connections. You can also expect to see contributors like NOLA Baby Café, The Blood Center, and Second Harvest Food Bank.
