According to the police, the victim was approached by two unidentified males, who carjacked her at gunpoint. A technology known as "On-Star" was instrumental in tracking the stolen vehicle. After being spotted by Foxtrot, an aviation unit, the car was abandoned by the suspects at the Barclay and East 29th Street intersection, where the 15-year-old driver engaged in a brief foot pursuit before being apprehended by Northeast DAT detectives. The second suspect, however, managed to flee on foot.
The detained suspect, whose identity is protected due to their age, was taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Booking facility to face charges related to the carjacking. Details about the chase, the charges, and the search for the second person involved haven't been fully shared since the ongoing investigation.
