
The North Las Vegas community confronts another instance of gun violence after a juvenile succumbed to a gunshot wound early yesterday morning. According to News3LV, police were called to the area near Webb Avenue and Davis Place, close to Owens Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard, around 12:30 a.m. upon reports of gunshots.
Shortly thereafter, North Vista Hospital, located approximately a mile from the reported shootings, notified the North Las Vegas Police Department (NLVPD) that a juvenile had arrived with a gunshot injury that proved fatal, as the individual was pronounced dead at the hospital, the facility lies not far from the initial crime scene, reflecting the proximity of violence to places of healing.
The identity of the victim has not been revealed, and as the NLVPD continues to piece together the events that led to this tragedy, no arrests have been made at this moment. The police, however, suggest that the incident seems to be isolated, as stated in their official communication.
