Residents of Kalāheo are advised to prepare for an upcoming road closure that will impact a section of Wawae Road, as announced by the Department of Public Works and Maui Kupono Builders. From October 21 to November 1, this closure will be in effect on weekdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., provided the weather permits. According to the County of Kaua'i, the essential work is necessary to carefully resurface the road.
The full closure is projected to possibly create delays for local traffic, with residents in the area being granted partial access. However, they should be prepared to potentially wait for up to an hour. Those affected by the closure should plan to carefully make any necessary adjustments to their schedules and allow themselves extra time to reach their destinations. During the roadworks, parking will be prohibited in the designated work zones.
Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic and ensure the safety of construction workers and the public. Anyone wanting more information about the upcoming roadworks can contact Maui Kupono Builders at 808-369-1800 or Todd Ozaki at the County of Kaua‘i at 808-241-4845.
